“Nobody expects an emergency medical situation to happen, but if it does, we are prepared.” – Kathy P.
Accidents happen…
Everyone knows that, so as part of their Emergency Preparedness Planning in partnership with the #RedCrossReady nationwide initiative, Cotton & Company, sent four of it’s staff back to school for some serious lessons in life saving skills.
Cassie Cowsert, Erika Wigley Vicat, Kathy Petroraio and Sonya Pereira spent the day together participating in lectures, activities and hands-on CPR training.
“What a fun day out of the office,” says Team Cotton’s Erika Vicat. “We had a really great time learning about First-Aid and CPR.”
The CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification course was held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the American Red Cross in Stuart. The eight hour day included lecture, class-room style activities and demonstration.
“I was so honored to participate in such an important initiative,” says Cowsert. There is a huge responsibility that comes with being chosen, so I’m just very honored to participate.”
The course prepared us to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and infants and it meets OSHA/workplace requirements.
“There was a ton of good information, I just hope I never have to use the things I learned today.” – Erika Vicat
Better safe then sorry though, right?!
